Board of Review Opens Group 8 for 2023 Appeals

The Cook County Board of Review has opened 2023 property tax appeals for the eighth group. The Board’s deadline to appeal your 2023 assessed value is February 06, 2024. Below are the townships that are currently open in Group 8:

    • Lake
    • Lyons
    • Northfield
    • Worth

Assessments can be appealed every year, regardless of when a township was reassessed. If you missed your appeal opportunity at the Assessor’s office earlier in the year, or if you did appeal and weren’t satisfied with the result, you have a second opportunity to appeal at the Board of Review. Appealing your home’s 2023 assessed value is the only way to achieve property tax relief on your second installment property tax bill in the fall of 2024, other than selling your home or claiming a new exemption.

Lake Township 2023 Assessment Notices Mailed

The Cook County Assessor’s office mailed 2023 property assessment notices on November 1st  to Lake Township property owners. The 31-day window to appeal your 2023 assessed value is now open until the deadline of December 5th. The following cities, towns, and villages are in Lake Township:

The Cook County Assessor’s office mailed 2022 assessment notices to Lake property owners on Thursday, November 25th, 2022. The 32-day window to appeal your assessed value at the Assessor’s office is now open until the deadline of December 27th, 2022.

2021 Triennial reassessment notices were mailed to Lake Township homeowners on Thursday, November 04, 2021. The following cities, towns, and villages are in Lake Township: Back of the Yards and Englewood.
